Self-directed internship

During this period, I really did a lot of different things. These included visiting my aunt in England and travelling around Europe by train for a month.

England

At the beginning of May, I spent 1 week with my aunt in Winchester, England. She is a life event artist. It was really quite an experience to walk with her, learnt so much.

For example, she had an exhibition of her work. This was then for people getting married and getting inspiration. And as you can see, it is a beautiful location to get married.

In the past, she once started screen printing, so I did this with her. I had heard of it before, but had never done it myself. Now that I have done this, I would really like to do more. It is such a beautiful way of making art on fabric.

I also went to a drawing course. Here you had a female model and each time we had to make a quick sketch of a certain pose. So you started with 15 minutes, but give up moment you only had 2 minutes to sketch something. It was very challenging to deal with this and above all very instructive. You really learn to look closely.

At the weekend, she had a big wedding, and I was allowed to come along to help. This was really so special, so cool to have experienced. As you can see, it was gigantic, but above all a beautiful setting to get married.

Interrailing

From 10 June to 7 July, I travelled through Europe by Interrail. This idea came about because I had won 7 train tickets, and then I thought this is a good time to go on a trip. I then made a concrete plan, which was then approved by school.

Personally, I think it is very important to engage with other cultures, so this was a big part of my trip. I went to a lot of different places and really saw everything.
